This service aims to:

provides screening to understand if sensory processing difficulties may be interfering with a young persons’ ability to participate in everyday life and participation at school.

implement comprehensive assessment

recommend personalised sensory strategies to improve daily life at school, in the community and at home
-
deliver in school interventions to facilitate the development of the sensory processing abilities underpinning personal resilience and participation in daily living skills including academic learning, interpersonal effectiveness and behavior/emotion regulation.
This is done alongside the Islands educators, health and social care providers and in collaboration with parents or other carers.

Parenting Through the Senses
Success through the Senses
Everyone has sensory preferences, Parenting through the Senses is a fun course that first teaches adults and carers how to discover their own unique sensory preferences.
Parents can then become sensory detectives, learning to understand their children’s behaviours and what their sensory needs are.
The course helps parent become advocates for their family and child’s needs and includes ideas and ways to provide these in the home.
Everyone has sensory preferences, Success through the Senses is a fun course that teaches adults and adolescents how to discover their own unique sensory preferences.
This course helps people to understand how their senses influence everyday life, occupational choices, behaviours what their sensory needs are and how to meet them.
